Single Vehicle Crash East of Laurel Takes Down Utility Pole & Wires

Delaware State Police were called to Carey’s Camp Road east of Laurel for a single vehicle hit and run collision. Police learned that a vehicle traveling westbound on Carey’s Camp Road left the roadway in a curve and struck a utility pole. The driver left the scene, but was later located by troopers investigating the crash, which involved a Ford pickup truck driven by a 29 year old Delmar man.

The driver was cited for careless driving, no valid license and hit and run related charges. The roadway was closed for several hours while Delaware Electric Cooperative repaired the damaged utility pole.
