State Fire Marshal Investigating Crawl Space Fire in Rehoboth Beach

Rehoboth Beach firefighters were called for smoke coming from a home on Sussex Street just before 6 Tuesday night. Crews arriving at the scene found smoke and flames coming from the crawl space and heavy smoke throughout the home. The fire under the home was quickly extinguished – there was minor extension inside the home, which was under renovation at the time. There was no one living in the home and no injuries reported.
The State Fire marshal was called to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
