Sussex County Council will Receive Proposed FY 2026 Budget Tuesday
The Sussex County Council meets Tuesday morning – this week’s meeting will include the budget presentation for FY 2026. The County Administrator and Finance Director will present the proposed budget to the Council, which will include the proposed property tax rate post reassessment. There will also be discussion on establishing water and sewer rates and connection charges. There is also an ordinance to increase various fees charged by the Sheriff.
The Council will revisit in Old Business two sets of Change of Zone and Conditional Use applications for Northstar Property, LLC and for Rudder Road, LLC.
And in the afternoon session there is a Change of Zone and Conditional Use application for Toney Floyd Trucking, LLC. The Council will also hear an ordinance amendment to the future land use map of the Comprehensive Plan in relation to an over 9.6 acre property near the intersection of Route 9/Lewes Georgetown Highway and Route 30/Gravel Hill Road.
The Sussex County Council meets at 10am on Tuesday, May 20 at the County Administration Offices on The Circle in Georgetown.
