Talk of Delmarva Fishing Report 05/08/26
Thursday the wind laid down a bit, but then it rained. The temperature dropped 20 degrees just to make things a bit more uncomfortable.
Dan at Dan鈥檚 Tackle on Route 1 in Milton had an interesting report. It seems since Tuesday shore fishermen at Oyster Rocks Road have been catching big bluefish, to 13 pounds, out of the Broadkill River on cut bait such as bunker or mullet. Over on Broadkill Beach there are black drum to 35 pounds and big striped bass well above the 28 to 31-inch slot. Both will take sand fleas while the stripers will also take bloodworms or cut mullet or bunker.
Old Inlet Bait and Tackle told us that they heard of some short tog caught on sand fleas and green crabs. They also said a few hickory shad were taken during incoming water on shad darts.
