Talk of Delmarva Fishing Report 08/22/26

Carol at Taylored Tackle in Seaford said the Nanticoke River saw something that was unusual. Crabs caught on chicken necks for the first time in a few years. Catfish taken on cut bait is the usual catch for those anglers who look for large fish while crappie on minnows or crappie jigs satisfy those who prefer light tackle action.

Dan at Dan’s Tackle told us the spot and croaker run at Broadkill Beach remained unabated with the normal lug worms and Fishbites still bringing the best results. The Broadkill River produces a few keeper flounder on live minnows or on bucktails with a Gulp! crawfish.

Lewes Harbour Marina reported that the Katydid, the Grizzly and a few private boats brought back flounder and sea bass from ocean structure. The Canal saw larger croaker and a few flounder.
