USACE: Ocean City to get emergency dredging

The US Army Corps of Engineers announced yesterday it will expedite the dredging of the Ocean City Inlet. Maryland Congressman Andy Harris says after learning of the shoaling jeopardizing larger ships access to the Inlet, he contacted the Army Corps for immediate assistance, who canceled a scheduled dredge in New Jersey in order to prioritize the Ocean City Inlet. Rep. Harris says the inlet is important as the states only access to the Atlantic Ocean, and is grateful for the army corps attention and cooperation.
