Wanted Laurel Man Facing New Felony Charges After Traffic Stop
A 23-year-old Laurel man is in custody after officers found a loaded handgun and marijuana at a traffic stop. Laurel Police officers on Monday, September 22nd pulled over a Nissan Altima driven by Javier White because its registration was suspended for no insurance and the driver had active warrants. When officers stopped the car, they identified the driver as White, who also had outstanding warrants. During a search, they found 94 grams of marijuana, as well as a loaded Glock 19 handgun with an altered serial number and a high-capacity magazine. Further investigation revealed the firearm was stolen from Seaford. White faces several felony charges, including: Receiving a stolen firearm, Possession of a weapon with an altered serial number, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, and Manufacturing or Delivering a Controlled Substance. White was arraigned and given a $49,500 cash bail and was then taken to Sussex Correctional Institute.
