WGMD Fishing Report 10-2-19

Monday was another day of small craft advisories for the ocean, but several boats went out anyway.

Tommy at Lewes Harbour Marina said the Katydid fished ocean structure for a limit of sea bass, five flounder to 6.76 pounds and four triggerfish.

Lighthouse View Tackle on the fishing pier at Cape Henlopen State Park did not answer the phone and may be closed for the season.  The pier will remain open, but you may want to call the shop before heading out to be sure you have bait and tackle before entering the park.

At Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em, Burt said he had one boat come in with some dolphin, but none of the other offshore boats had returned when I called.  I hope to have their reports on Wednesday.

At Old Inlet Bait and Tackle the report was not very good.  They said it was a very slow day with unpleasant conditions on the surf and the inlet just didn’t produce much of anything.  On Friday Ezra Border checked in a 3.5-pound triggerfish caught from the inlet on a sand flea.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
