WGMD Fishing Report 10-21-18

With gale warnings up on the ocean and bay I think it’s safe to say no boats left the dock or launch ramp.  I am sure there were folks fishing the inlet with sand fleas and green crab, but if recent reports are still holding up, they are not getting many tog for the cooler.

The latest standings in the Lewes Harbour Marina Tog Tournament has Joe McNeal in first place with a 4.95-pound tog.  Fred Robinson is in second with his 4.87 pounder and Daryl Mergonthaller holding third with a 4.47pounder.

Over in the Chesapeake Bay the wind and rain keep the water above the Bay Bridge pretty dirty.  Chumming still works here with cut alewife or live spot the best baits.  Further down the bay there are schools of breaking fish with rockfish to the north and blues and rock to the south.  Work the bottom around these schools for a better chance of finding a keeper.

In Delaware Bay the only reports we had were white perch on bloodworms and catfish on cut bunker.
