WGMD Fishing Report 10-30-18

bill-o

Tuesday was windy again and I don’t see much relief for the rest of the week.  Small craft advisories are up for Wednesday and they are warning of gale force winds on Friday and Saturday.

Some of the local tackle shops are on short hours because of the weather so call before heading out to make sure your favorite shop is open.

Lauren at Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em was on her way out the door when I called.  She said she hadn’t seen a fish all day.  No one answered the phone at Lewes Harbour Marina so I’ll take that as a sign they didn’t see any fish either.

Freshwater fishing remains good for bass, pickerel and crappie in the state ponds.  The tidal rivers and creeks hold good numbers of white perch and catfish along with bass, pickerel and crappie in the upper reaches.

The shoreline of the Lower River and Upper Bay also hold cats and white perch.  Bloodworms and cut bunker have been best for the perch and cats.  This is a steady fishery even in bad weather.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD Fishing Report.
