WGMD Fishing Report 10-4-18

Thursday saw fishable weather, but Friday will not.  Small craft advisories are up already with northeast winds at 15 to 20 with gusts to 25 knots.

We had a real good report from Old Inlet Bait and Tackle as there are more mullet at the inlet after they went missing on the northwest wind.  Small blues are available on bucktails or metal lures on incoming water.  Keeper flounder have been caught from the rocks on bucktails with Gulp! or minnows.  A few triggerfish and sheepshead were caught on sand fleas and a very few tog were taken on green crab or sand fleas.  Drifting sand fleas or live eels at the inlet during dark tides has produced keeper rockfish.  Small blues are everywhere along the beach and will hit cut mullet.  From the pier at Massey’s Landing keeper flounder have been caught on Gulp! and minnows fished on a jig or a bottom rig.  Nice-sized spot were caught here on bloodworms or shrimp.  A few tog were taken on green crab or sand fleas.  It looks like the Inlet and Massey’s Ditch will be the only fishable locations on Friday.
