WGMD Fishing Report 10-6-18

Saturday started out with wind and drizzle, but while small craft advisories were up in the ocean, Delaware Bay was fishable.

Bill at Lewes Harbour Marina said they have a new leader in the Tog Tournament.  Fred Robinson took over the top spot with a 4.87-pound beauty.  The Katydid fished bay structure for a mixed bag of sea bass, triggerfish and black drum.  Also on the same trip Daryl Mergenthaler caught a 7.02-pound tog that was worth a citation, but he was not in the Tog Tournament.  Wayne DeMarco caught and released a big black drum for a release citation.  Andy Newcomber had a 4.19-pound triggerfish on the Pirate King that was part of a mixed bag of trout, blowfish, black drum, triggerfish and blues.

At Old Inlet Bait and Tackle the report was blues in the surf with some larger ones measuring 16 to 18 inches.  These were the scoring fish in the Delaware Mobile Surf Fishing Tournament.  The Inlet also gave up blues of the same size on incoming water.
