WGMD Fishing Report 12-21-18

The weather on Friday was not as bad as the forecast, but still had small craft advisories flying all day.  My guess is there will be little if any fishing from now until the end of the year as the weather and the holidays will work together to keep folks off the water.

We did get a few more reports from Thursday.  Captain Monty Hawkins on the Morning Star out of Ocean City had a very poor day while the Lewestown Lady out of Fisherman’s Wharf in Lewes did very well.  Paul Elwood caught tog weighing 13.8 and 9.l6 pounds.  Mr. Choy had six tog in the 10-pound class.  Another angler had a 13 pounder.  They ended the day one shy of a boat limit.

Lauren at Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em said the No Limit came in on Thursday with four keeper tog.

At Old Inlet Bait and Tackle, Jack said no one was even fishing.

The Modern Fish Act that will grant recreational fishing an equal footing with commercial fishing on the federal level has cleared the House and is on the president’s desk.
