Sunday saw decent weather and while the ocean and bay remain a bit cold, the tidal creeks and rivers are showing signs of life.

Ice House Bait and Tackle reported that five-pound catfish were caught from Oyster Rocks on cut bunker.  Bowers Beach saw some white perch on bloodworms as did some locations along the Broadkill River.

John at Dan’s Tackle confirmed the report of white perch at Bowers Beach on bloodworms.  He said white perch have been scattered at various locations along the banks of the Broadkill River biting here on one tide and there on the next.  Grass shrimp, minnows and bloodworms have all been productive baits.

Old Inlet Bait and Tackle said several more short rockfish have been caught out of the inlet during the change from incoming to outgoing current on plastic swim shads.  No sign on shad or herring as yet.

The Morning Star out of Ocean City ran a tog trip on Saturday and reported some strong winds resulting in a weak bite.  Two large females and several short tog were tagged and released while a few anglers were able to secure dinner.
