WGMD Fishing Report 3-25-19

bill-o

Sunday was a beautiful day and I was stuck inside all day working.  And so it goes, but after I hit the Lottery this week work will be a thing of the past.

I spoke with Steve at Smith Bait in Leipsic and he said the only fish around have been white perch and short rockfish.  The perch have been caught at Woodland Beach on bloodworms and grass shrimp.  Big catfish have been pulled from the Saint Jones River on cut bunker.

At Dan’s Tackle, John said white perch were caught from Bowers Beach on bloodworms and grass shrimp.

Jack at Old Inlet Bait and Tackle had unconfirmed reports of small rockfish caught on bloodworms from the surf.  He had confirmed reports of small rockfish taken out of Indian River Inlet on soft plastic swim shads during the time between incoming and outgoing current.

I spoke with Captain John Nedelka on the Karen Sue who lost the weekend to the wind, but is hoping to be back out next weekend.

Not much different over in the Chesapeake Bay as they await the opening of trophy season on April 20.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD Fishing Report
