WGMD Fishing Report 4-10-19

Tuesday was a bit cooler than Monday, but otherwise a fair day to go fishing.  Wednesday and Thursday also look good right now.

We saw a photo of eight-year-old Gavin Lester with a very large red drum that he caught from the surf on Hatteras Island.  It looked like the fish was bigger than Gavin.

Henlopen Bait and Tackle reported that Frank and Anita Large caught four keeper flounder while fishing out of Wachapreague, Virginia.  Joe and Bernadette Hudock had flounder to five pounds from the same area.

The State of Maryland has set their cobia regulations for 2019.  The season will run from June 1 to September 30.  The daily bag limit will be one fish per person with a three fish per boat limit if there are three licensed anglers on the boat.  The minimum size will be 40 inches.  These regulations will go into effect on May 1.

Delaware is working on cobia regulations.  Our process takes longer than Maryland and Virginia.
