WGMD Fishing Report 4-12-19

Thursday was cool and breezy and while no advisories were posted no boats went out into the ocean or bay.

Captain Brent Weist on the Katydid managed to pull in a citation tog on Wednesday.  The big fish tipped the scales at 9.34 pounds.

Clark at Old Inlet Bait and Tackle told us small rockfish were caught on bloodworms at Three Rs Road.  This action has been steady for the past two weeks and could continue for a few more.  At least one keeper rock has been caught during this time.

At Lewes Ice House Bait and Tackle, Captain Les told me he saw photos of three keeper flounder caught in Delaware, but the angler would not give any more details.  He also told me crabbing is getting off to a good start in Indian River Bay.

My buddy Mike Pizzolato fished the old bridge at Route 1 and the Broadkill River on Wednesday and caught quite a few white perch.  He was using worms and said the best action was when the current was slowing down around the change.
