WGMD Fishing Report 4-15-19

hannity-promo

Sunday was warm, but windy with small craft advisories up for bay and ocean.  Gale warnings are already up for Monday with strong thunderstorms promised for Sunday night.  Ahh Spring!

George at Eastern Marine told us keeper rockfish are being caught out of the upper Delaware Bay.  Gil Brewer had a 28 and a 31-inch rockfish on cut bunker at the Pipes.  Steve Ennis caught a 34-inch rock and a 5.5-pound catfish at the Yellow Can on cut bunker.

Steve at Smith Bait in Leipsic also had reports of keeper rock.  He said boats running from Collins Beach out to the power Plant or the 4C Buoy and chunking with fresh bunker are finding keepers.

My friend Bob Murphy fished on the Katydid last week and caught a 7.17-pound citation tog.  The Porgy IV out of Cape May, New Jersey has been catching tog including a 9.5 pounder for Bob Brett.  Bob released the fish because he already had his limit.

White perch fishing remains good in the Broadkill River with bloodworms and grass shrimp the top baits.
