WGMD Fishing Report 4-17-19

Tuesday saw Gale leave town, but her sister small craft advisory stuck around just to be sure no one would be able to fish the open water of the bay or ocean.

I want to remind you of two very important fishing tournaments.  The first is the Joe Morris Memorial Canal Flounder Tournament held on May 17.  This tournament benefits the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund.  Half of the $40 entry fee goes to this charity and the rest is divided between the winners.  All fishing is in the Lewes and Rehoboth Canal and Broadkill River and I hope we have better weather than last year.  Entry money is accepted in cash at Lewes Harbour Marina.

The second tournament is the Cast for a Cure Surf Tournament held on May 18 out of Old Inlet Bait and Tackle.  This contest benefits the Tunnel Cancer Center and all of the entry money goes to these fine folks.  The contest has four person teams with each team member paying $50.  Both tournaments have raffle items donated to the cause that add to the final charity donation.
