WGMD Fishing Report 4-22-19

Sunday was a vast improvement over Saturday and I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday, be it Easter or Passover, with family and friends.

In spite of the nasty weather on Saturday or perhaps because of it, big bluefish were caught from the beach at Cape Henlopen State Park.  Details were a bit sketchy, but I do know Julie Stevenson and Alicen Sharp caught eight big blues from the beach near the fishing pier on Saturday night.  I went up there on Sunday evening and fished for an hour just at sundown.  I tossed a popper and then a Hopkins from the pier without result.  Two men who waded out at least 100 yards from the beach about three or four hundred yards west of the pier did catch three big blues on metal.

Lewes Harbour Marina reported that Geoff and Hayden Wagner caught a 17-inch flounder out of the Canal on Saturday.  No information on what bait was used.

Lewes Ice House reported that Cliff did catch a 10-pound black drum from Broadkill Beach on a bloodworm.
