The weather was absolutely perfect on Saturday allowing a lot of folks to get out on the water.

Amanda at Lewes Harbour Marina said flounder fishing really turned on in the Lewes and Rehoboth Canal.  They also saw a good number of flounder come in from Site 11.  Minnows, squid strips and Gulp! accounted for most of these fish.  A 45.5-pound black drum was caught by flounder fisherman Mike Logue at Site 6.

At the fishing pier on Cape Henlopen State Park Lighthouse View Bait and Tackle said they saw a lot of spot caught on Saturday.  A few short flounder and at least one keeper were caught as well.

At Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em Lauren said they had one boat come in from the Poorman’s Canyon with an excellent catch of tuna.  The head boat returned with some flounder.

Old Inlet Bait and Tackle told us the surf produced a few kings along with plenty of skates and sharks.

Rick’s Bait and Tackle said Darrel Hawk brought in a 5.6-pound flounder from Reef Site 11.  The only thing at the inlet has been hickory shad.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
