WGMD Fishing Report 6-6-18

Tuesday was very pleasant, but there was just enough wind to keep most boats off of open water.

Amanda at Lewes Harbour Marina said she saw flounder to 18.5 inches come in from the canal.  Jigs with Gulp! or flounder rigs baited with minnows and squid strips were the top baits.

At Lighthouse View Bait and Tackle the report was excellent flounder fishing.  Many keepers and even more shorts were caught on jigs with white Gulp! or minnows and squid.  In addition, there were lots of spot caught on bloodworms.  Naturally, I was there on Monday when nothing was caught!

At Old Inlet Bait and Tackle, Clark said flounder were caught from the sidewalk and rocks at the inlet.  Bucktails with Gulp! has been the prime producer.  Jetty Jockeys are working the night shift from dusk till dawn to catch a few keeper rockfish on black and purple plugs.  The surf is still pretty dirty and that is keeping the kings from beginning to bite.

No one has been drum fishing since last week.  We hope they get back out soon.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
