WGMD Fishing Report 7-24-19

mark-levin-promo

Tuesday saw a lot of rain and very few if anyone went fishing.

I stopped by Lewes Harbour Marina in the morning and all the head and charter boats were still tied to the dock.  Chris at Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em had the same report, but told us the boats all planned to sail on Wednesday.  At Old Inlet Bait and Tackle the report didn’t change from the past few weeks.  Kings from the beach on bloodworms during the day and rockfish from the inlet at night on sand fleas, eels or shads.

The boat ramp at Millsboro Pond is finally getting a complete makeover.  This project has been in the works for years and has run into a few snags, but all of that I hope is in the past and by September those who fish this pond will have a state-of-the-art facility.

In order to accommodate a floating dock and handicap access the ramp had to be relocated and this will also allow for more parking spaces.  When completed it will be much better than the old ramp and the $600,000 cost will be paid for with fishing license money (1/3) and federal excise tax (2/3).

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing Report.
