Wednesday saw much nicer weather, but a strong northeast wind had small craft advisories posted on the ocean.

Amanda at Lewes Harbour Marina said the Pirate King did get out on the bay and returned with a good catch of kings.  The Katydid was out as well, but wasn’t expected back until late in the evening.

I saw a good report from Bill, Billy and Marissa Santanna who caught more than 50 bluefish in an hour and a half on Wednesday morning from the South Pocket at Indian River Inlet.  They were using silver, metal spoons.

Lighthouse View Tackle on the fishing pier at Cape Henlopen State Park told us it was a few spot on bloodworms or FishBite bloodworms on Wednesday.

Old Inlet Bait and Tackle said surf fishing has been good for kings, spot and small croaker on bloodworms or FishBite bloodworms.  Blues have been caught on cut bait or metal lures.

Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em saw a few bluefish caught out of Indian River Inlet on metal lures or bucktails during incoming water.  They had no reports from anyone fishing the ocean.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing Report.
