While fishing in the Indian River Bay by Burton’s Island, Burt Campbell of Dagsboro, DE hooked into these two nice sized flounder using 3/4oz Mitchell’s bucktails with 5″ white Gulp swimming mullet. These fish weighed 3.8lbs and 5lbs and measured 23 1/2 inches.

Monday saw some pretty brisk northeast winds and small craft advisories posted on the ocean.

As a final wrap-up for the Flounder Pounder Open I had a report that the first and second place fish were caught off of Point Pleasant, New Jersey.  While this is a long run it is not against the rules and I have ridden a lot longer for a whole lot less than $100,000.

Tony at Lewes Harbour Marina said the Miss Kirstin fished the Delaware Bay with the Knox family and came back with a good catch of croaker.  The Martha Marie had nine flounder and two sea bass on Sunday.  At Ice House Bait and Tackle we heard that Bill Deyaimin caught an 8.46-pound sheepshead.

Lighthouse View Tackle on the fishing pier at Cape Henlopen State Park said it was another good day for catching spot and croaker on bloodworms.  Incoming to high tide is the prime fishing time.  Croaker also lead the Report from Rick’s Bait and Tackle.  They said there are large schools of these fish right outside the Inlet.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
