WGMD Fishing Report 8-8-18

Hermann-Financial

The Toast will take their two lay days on Wednesday and Thursday so I won’t be out again until Friday.  The current leaders are the same as on Tuesday with the exception of the Tuna category where the Blinky 4 took over first place with a 73.5 pounder.

While I was out in the canyons chasing marlin folks were doing pretty good fishing inshore for flounder and tuna.  Amanda at Lewes Harbour Marina told us Dan McGreedy had a 4.73-pound flounder and Bob Murphy caught two flounder weighing 3.8 and 3.9 pounds as part of a boat limit during a trip on the Katydid.  Tom Coyle, Matt McCurry and Joe Walker caught some very nice flounder at B Buoy using squid and shiners.  Young angler Phillip Long fished from the Cape Shores Pier and caught a limit of flounder on Gulp! and minnows.  Gary Ebling had a 46.5-pound bluefin tuna on the chunk at the 12-Fathom Lump.

The report from Lighthouse View Tackle on the fishing pier at Cape Henlopen State Park was good fishing for spot and croaker all day on Wednesday.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
