WGMD Fishing Report 9-14-18

Posing with Toby Miller’s fish is Capt. Don Gillis, both of Dover, DE. This fish was caught out by Toby while at Site 11. This 9.5lb and 28 inch flounder using a Spro bucktail with a 6″ Gulp grub and squid strip.

While the Carolinas took the brunt of Florence on Friday, we escaped with little or no damage.  This storm will be around until the middle of next week so don’t let your guard down quite yet.

Lighthouse View Tackle on the fishing pier at Cape Henlopen State Park said one person was on the pier when I called at 4:00 PM.  That hardy angler was catching spot on bloodworms.

The Delaware Mobile Surf-fishermen will hold their 12th Annual DMS Invitational Surf Fishing Tournament on October 5, 6 and 7, 2018.  This is a great contest to become involved with as it has cash and other prizes for men, women and children.

This year, for the first time, women may enter the Overall Division by declaring entry by noon on Sunday.  This means if you have a high score you can move to the Overall Division where the cash prizes are higher.

The cost is $40 for adults and $15 for kids 15 and under.
