If you didn’t want to go fishing in the ocean, Thursday was a beautiful day.  A few folks did fish the surf, the inlet and the rock piles in the bay.

Tom at Lewes Harbour Marina told us Chris Ragni and Chris Hux fished the Outer Wall and the Ice Breakers using sand fleas for bait.  Chris Ragni caught two sheepshead with one an 8.1-pound citation winner.  Chris Hux caught some nice triggerfish.

Dave at Lighthouse View Tackle said fishing has been really good on the pier with lots of spot and two keeper flounder caught on Thursday.  The keeper flounder and lots of shorts have been caught on live minnows.

Old Inlet Bait and Tackle reported small blues scattered up and down the beach with cut mullet the best bait.  A few small rockfish have been in with the blues.  The same size blues will come through the inlet on incoming water and will hit small metal lures.  There is a lot of bait in the inlet right now.  The occasional speckled trout is caught from the southside pocket on jigs.
