Friday saw a few boats head out in the ocean.  All reported rough conditions, but they still caught fish.

At Lewes Harbour Marina Tom said the Katydid fished ocean structure for a catch of 28 flounder and 45 sea bass.

At the fishing pier on Cape Henlopen State Park, Lighthouse View Tackle said spot were caught on bloodworms and small blues were taken on cut mullet.

At Old Inlet Bait and Tackle they were preparing for their Fall Surf Fishing Classic.  A good number of surf fishermen compete in this tournament every year for money and trophies.  Right now there are small blues in the surf on cut mullet.  You may be able to catch them on small metal lures worked back from the first wave through the wash.

Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em said the Captain Ike came in with a good catch of dolphin from the offshore grounds.  The head boat brought in some sea bass.

Fish in O.C. reported the D.A. Sea came in from the Poorman’s with seven white marlin release flags flying.  The Morning Star caught some flounder and sea bass.
