WGMD Fishing Report 9-22-18

Saturday was pleasant in the morning, but by late afternoon the wind picked up and made for some choppy seas in the ocean.  Delaware Bay was fishable for most of the day and we saw some nice sheepshead brought in to the scales.

Tommy at Lewes Harbour Marina said the Grizzly with Captain Cary Evans was able to put the Lynch brothers on some big sheepshead.  Sean had a 12.5 pounder and Colin caught a sheepshead that tipped the scales at 10.75 pounds.  The Katydid came in with a catch of sheepshead with three citations in the mix.  Grandpa Matt Garvey took grandson Cooper Wayne to the point where they caught small blues on cut mullet.

At Lighthouse View Tackle on the fishing pier at Cape Henlopen State Park, Dave said it was another good day for spot fishermen.  Successful anglers left with 20 to 40 fish in their coolers.

At Old Inlet Bait and Tackle, the first day of the Fall Classic was pretty slow.  Some blues and kings were caught with most too small to make measure.
