WGMD Fishing Report 9-23-18

Sunday was wet, but not as windy as the forecast.  A few boats did go out and some fish were caught from the bay and beach.

Brandy Timmons, who does a lot of surf fishing, caught what I believe is the first and only unicorn filefish ever landed in Delaware by a hook and line angler.  When landed no one knew what it was, but later research revealed its identity.  The filefish was caught on a FishBite bloodworm.

At Lewes Harbour Marina, Tommy said Mike, Nick and Marvin fished site 6 with sand fleas and clam from the Miss Kirstin with Captain Vince Keagy to bring back triggerfish, croaker and blowfish.  The Angler had a mixed bag of blues and croaker from the bay.

Lighthouse View Bait and Tackle on the fishing pier at Cape Henlopen State Park reported that spot fishermen caught plenty of fish during less the comfortable conditions.

Clark at Old Inlet Bait and Tackle was busy totaling up the results in the Fall Classic.  We will have those winners in our next report.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report
