WGMD Fishing Report 9-28-18

Friday was rough on the ocean, but the bay was fishable for larger boats.  The weekend looks pretty good on the bay, but there will be big swells on the ocean.  These are manageable if you slow down, but will induce sea sickness in those who have a history of this malady.

Tom at Lewes Harbour Marina said Captain Carey Evans had the Grizzly out in the bay and came back with a mixed bag of fish for his customers.  The list included black drum, trout, croaker, blues, sea bass and triggerfish.

Dave at Lighthouse Bait and Tackle said the flounder fishing was pretty good considering all the wind.  He saw two 20-inch and one 19-inch flounder caught.  The wind did impact the spot fishing with only a handful taken.

Old Inlet Bait and Tackle said all the bait that had been at the inlet disappeared.  I suspect the northwest wind played a role in this.  Small blues were caught, but not in any great number.
