WGMD Fishing Report 9-29-19

bill-o

Saturday was a bit rough in the ocean, but the bay was fishable even for trailer boats.

The Fish Bound out of Ocean City had a flounder trip last Wednesday and ended up catching triggerfish and sea bass.  This boat has a well-deserved reputation for catching flounder and when they can’t find them the fish just aren’t there.  The Katydid out of Lewes is another good flounder-catching boat and they don’t target them anymore.  Thank heaven for triggerfish and sea bass.

The mullet run along the beach will being blues and perhaps a few trout with in range of us poor surf casters.  I will be interested to see the results of the Old Inlet Surf Tournament as to exactly what was caught.

Indian River Inlet has been less than productive of late.  My last two trips produced exactly zero fish nor did I see any fish caught.  I had hopes on both occasions for a little action, but perhaps the warm weather and water have kept the fish from their fall migration pattern.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
