37th District Rep. Valerie Jones Giltner Has First Bill Passed in State House

37^th District Representative Valerie Jones Giltner has had her first bill passed in the State House. Senate Bill 49, which is co-sponsored by Senator Brian Pettyjohn, exempts “first informers” from driving restrictions during a State of Emergency. First informers are broadcast engineers and on-air staff who are essential in keeping the public informed during a crisis.

Jones Giltner made a technical amendment to correct the accidental strike-through of two words on line 58 on Thursday.  The amended measure was passed with a vote of 33 to 0 with 8 absent. The amended bill now returns to the Senate for consideration.  SB 49 was initially passed in the State Senate with a unanimous vote in early April.
