WGMD Fishing Report 7-20-19

I finally got to go fishing on Thursday.  I was up at 0500 and at Indian River Inlet by 0545.  The tide was just starting in, but the current was still running out.  I set up just west of the bridge on the northside and as soon as the current began to run in, I started catching one to two-pound blues on a two-ounce Stingsilver.  I continued to catch them until I left them biting at 1000.  Just to my west, four men were catching one small flounder after another on Gulp! and live minnows.  They had two keepers by the time I left.

Captain Aaron Herd on the Gale Force also fished Indian River Inlet and his party caught nine keeper flounder to 4.4 pounds.

Hook ā€˜em and Cook ā€˜em has weighed in another potential state record false albacore.  This one was caught on a Flippy-Floppy Thing by Jason Conrad while fishing the 19-Fathom Lump on Captain Travis Scott’s Canyon Hunter.  The big fish weighed 22.6 pounds which is 1.1-pound heavier than the previous record set two weeks ago
