Four Handguns Recovered, Two Arrested Following Firearm Investigation


Dover Police have arrested 21-year-old Felton man, and a 17-year-old male from Dover, on gun charges following an incident Monday afternoon. Detectives from the Drugs, Vice and Organized Crime Unit along with members of the Street Crimes Unit conducted a firearm investigation in the area of Barrister Place聽 Both individuals initially ran but were taken into custody after a foot chase. While running, the teen dropped a 9mm SCCY handgun that had been concealed in his waistband. The 21-year-old–William Friends– was found with a backpack which included a 9mm Smith and Wesson Handgun, a 9mm SCCY Handgun, and a 9mm Glock 17. Police learned that the 9mm SCCY handgun that Friends was in possession of was reported stolen. Both face charges that include Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon, Illegal Gang Participation, and Resisting Arrest. Friends, who is at SCI on $8,200 secured bail, was also charged with Receiving Stolen Property. The 17-year-old was released on $50,000 unsecured bail.聽
