Boater Injured after Boat Grounds on Sandbar off Massey’s Landing

Indian River emergency personnel and the US Coast Guard helped to rescue a boater who was cut by a prop in a 27-foot sailfish boat that was stuck on a sandbar off Massey’s Landing Saturday evening. A Good Samaritan assisted the boater to control bleeding until first responders arrived and were able to transport the injured boater to the public boat ramp and awaiting Paramedics and EMS for transport to a nearby hospital. DNREC Marine Police are investigating.
