Single-Vehicle Crash in Snow Hill Area Leaves Two UMES Students Dead


Two 18-year-olds are dead after a crash involving one vehicle on Nassawango Road near Camp Road in the Snow Hill area of Worcester County. The crash was reported yesterday evening, Wednesday, September 3rd at 8:18 p.m. According to the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office, a 聽2016 Chevrolet Colorado pickup was traveling south on Nassawango Road, where it failed to negotiate a curve and left the roadway, colliding with several trees. The driver was identified as Luke Jason Hawthorne of Bensalem, Pennsylvania. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger, Munir Loyan Morris,聽 of Capitol Heights, Maryland, was flown by Maryland State Police Aviation to Tidal Health in Salisbury, where he later died. There were no other occupants of the vehicle. Both were students at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. University officials have notified and assisted their families.
