UPDATED: Victim in Fatal Golf Car Crash in Long Neck Identified; GoFundMe to Help with Funeral Costs

UPDATED – 09/16/25 – Delaware State Police have identified 35-year-old Sandy Sokira, of Millsboro, Delaware, as the woman who died in the fatal golf cart crash on Sunday evening in Long Neck.

ORIGINAL STORY – 09/15/25 – Delaware State Police are investigating the death of a 35 year old Millsboro woman who was a passenger in a golf cart and fell from the cart in the Pot-Nets Bayside Community. Police say the golf cart was traveling north on Piney Crest Lane around 7pm Sunday when the incident occurred.  Although the golf cart did not strike another object and sustained no damage, the incident is being investigated by the Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit as a fatal crash.  Police say the woman was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver – a 44 year old Millsboro woman was not injured.
