Candidate Filings Underway for County & Row Offices and School Board

The 2026 election cycle is getting underway – and Wednesday morning Republican Sussex County Council members Doug Hudson – District 4 and John Rieley – District 5 will be filing their candidacy. Also Sussex County Sheriff Robert Lee will file for re-election. Republican Party Chair for Sussex County, Daniel Willis, says this filing represents the first step in outlining our shared vision for the future of Sussex County and reinforces our commitment to strong, accountable local leadership. They will be filing at the Georgetown Department of Elections on Race Street at 10:30am.

Candidates interested in filing for School Board in Sussex County have until March 6th to file.  There are school board elections in the Cape Henlopen, Laurel, Delmar, Woodbridge and Seaford School Districts.
