Pump Prices Remain Low During Slow Driving Season


As winter weather grips much of the nation and fewer drivers hit the road, gas prices remain low with the national average at $2.85. Gasoline demand is lowest during this time of year, keeping the price of crude oil in the high $50 – low $60 range. Demand begins to ramp up toward the end of February and early March as the weather starts getting milder, and travelers take Spring Break trips. According to AAA, As of yesterday, the Delaware gas price average as of yesterday is $2.92, unchanged in the last week and 31 cents lower than one year ago. Also, as of yesterday, the South Jersey gas price average is $2.70, down a penny in the last week and down 38 cents compared to one year ago. The national average per kilowatt hour of electricity at a public EV charging station remained the same as last week at 38 cents.
