Selbyville Police are alerting the community about a phone scam involving callers spoofing the numbers of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the Selbyville Police Department. These calls are fraudulent and may attempt to pressure you for personal information or money. Similar scams have been reported in nearby areas. The police department reminds you that if you receive such a call, do not give out personal information or payment over the phone. Hang up immediately if the call feels suspicious and report those calls to your local police department. Law enforcement will never demand money or threaten arrest over the phone.
