Four Arrested During Dover Police Traffic Stop – Recovery of Two Loaded Guns

A traffic stop Friday evening led to the arrest of 4 Kent County men and the recovery of 2 loaded handguns. Dover Police stopped a minivan after committing a traffic violation on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. As the 4 occupants left the vehicle police spotted a handgun on the floor behind the passenger seat. Police secured the loaded 9mm handgun – and a search of the vehicle turned up a second loaded handgun under the driver’s seat.

All four occupants aged 19 to 22 were arrested on a variety of charges:  

Daniel Michel – 21- of Dover / $25,150 cash bond

  • Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited (4 counts)  
  • Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
  • Driving While Suspended or Revoked  
  • Failure to Signal 
  • Local Fugitive

Taron Marsh – 22 – of Dover / $24,000 cash bond

  • Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited (2 counts)  
  • Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited — Adjudicated Delinquent  
  • Criminal Impersonation 
  • Local Fugitive

Neshawn Gibbs – 19 – of Magnolia / $6,000 cash bond

  • Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited (2 counts)

Nasir Peace – 19 – of Dover / $10,000 cash bond

  • Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited (2 counts)

All four have been committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of bond.
