A recent food drive to “Stuff the Bus” actually stuffed two, 28-foot paratransit buses with non-perishable food donations to benefit the Food Bank of Delaware and Hunger Relief Partners.

According to Delaware Transit Corporation, DART’s Stuff the Bus drive between April 26th and April 30th collected 4.8 tons, or 9.621 pounds of food. The buses stopped at the Safeway stores in Rehoboth Beach and Dover and at ShopRite stores in New Castle County.

“The employees at DTC are always looking at ways to give back to the community, and Stuff the Bus is a perfect way for them to go out into the community and help others in need,” DTC CEO John Sisson said. “I want to thank our partners at Safeway and ShopRite and everyone who made a donation to this great cause.”
