UPDATED: Delaware DOC Announces Arrest of Offender from Sussex Community Corrections Center

UPDATED – 08/03/26 – An inmate who failed to return from an approved work pass to the Sussex Community Corrections Center in Georgetown last Thursday has been apprehended. Corrections officials say 46 year old Eric Szulborski was arrested Monday by Wilmington Police. He was arraigned at JP Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on an escape after conviction warrant in default of $5000 cash bail.

ORIGINAL STORY – 07/30/26 – Authorities are looking for an offender who willfully walked away from the Sussex Community Corrections Center (SCCC) in Georgetown after failing to return from an approved work pass. The offender’s whereabouts are unknown and unauthorized at this time, according to the Delaware Department of Correction.  A Warrant for Escape after Conviction has been issued. Community Corrections Centers are Level 4 facilities where the Department of Correction manages offenders who are transitioning back into the community. These centers are not secured like Level 5 prisons, as offenders are permitted to leave the facility to go to work, seek jobs, or attend approved treatment sessions. The offender, Eric Szulborski, whose current offense is Violation of Probation–Burglary 2nd, is 46-years old, 5’06 and weighs 140 pounds. He has blue eyes and brown hair. His last known address was in Wilmington. Szulborski has tattoos on his neck, left arm, right arm, back, and left shoulder.
