Delaware State Trooper Indicted Following Allegations of Inappropriate Conduct

A suspended Delaware State Police trooper has been indicted on allegations of inappropriate sexual contact involving a 21-year-old woman experiencing a mental health crisis. Trooper Thomas Catalfamo was indicted on four counts of Official Misconduct. Authorities say Trooper Catalfamo responded to a distress call in July 2025 and allegedly used his position of authority to engage in the misconduct while transporting the woman from a hospital. The Delaware State Police notified the Department of Justice after learning of the allegations and cooperated with the investigation. State Police say Catalfamo was immediately suspended and that the agency remains committed to accountability and maintaining public trust. The Delaware Department of Justice reminds the public that an indictment contains allegations only, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
