Dog Dispute Leads to Assault Charges for Salisbury Man

The Salisbury Police Department says a man has been arrested and charged after a dispute and physical altercation with a neighbor.

Officers say the incident took place around 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 6 in the 1000 block of Bell Avenue. A 59-year-old male victim was assaulted by 41-year-old Ian Christian Lundberg of Salisbury, with a baseball bat used in the assault. Officers say the two men had been in an ongoing dispute regarding their dogs, and whether the suspect and victim’s dogs had bit each other.

As their argument progressed, the suspect forced his way into the residence where the verbal argument turned physical. The suspect struck the victim with a closed fist in the head and upper body. He later grabbed a baseball bat and struck the victim in the head. Lundberg later fled the residence n a vehicle and remained at-large for a short time. Officers were able to identify and locate Lundberg and take him into custody in the early morning hours of June 7. He was charged with First Degree Assault, Second Degree Assault, Reckless Endangerment, Burglary and Trespassing and transported to Wicomico County Detention Center where he’s being held without bond.
