UPDATED: Escaped Suspect Now Back in DSP Custody


UPDATED 5/24/2019 at 12:10 p.m.: DSP Officials have confirmed to WGMD that 47-year-old Javier Guzman was apprehended at a residence in the 20000 block of Thistle Lane in Millsboro around 10:49 a.m. He is being transported back to Troop 4 and is set to be charged with further criminal offenses.

ORIGINAL: Delaware State Police are seeking the public’s help in locating an escaped suspect, who fled from a Trooper while in custody at the Selbyville Police Department this morning.

47-year-old Javier Guzman of Millsboro fled around 9:30 a.m. on Friday, May 24 while detained by Troopers at the Selbyville Police Department for a Felony DUI investigation. After being handcuffed, Guzman freed himself and fled from the building on foot.

Guzman is described as a white male, 5’09” tall, 170 lbs and bald with a tattoo on his head. He was last seen wearing a maroon shirt over a white t-shirt. He may be traveling in a 2005 GMC Envoy with Delaware License Plate PC33628 with Oceanside Cleaning on the side of the vehicle.

If anyone knows about Javier Guzman’s whereabouts they are asked to contact 9-1-1.
