Fatal Shooting In Dorchester Co. Investigated

Maryland State Police are investigating the shooting death of a 77-year-old man in Dorchester County.

Sunday afternoon at about 2:20 p.m., Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a reported shooting in the 3,700-block of Ocean Gateway in Linkwood. A preliminary investigation indicated that Douglas Washington McKnight was declared deceased at the scene.

Maryland State Police Homicide Unit investigators were requested to responded to the scene. The body of the victim has been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy.
