Federal Judge Issues CDL Data Injunction

Delaware Attorney General Kathy Jennings says a federal judge has issued a preliminary injunction blocking the Trump administration from accessing a database containing personal information on about 17 million commercial drivers. The order also blocks the administration from withholding more than $10 million in federal funding from the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators over the database. Jennings and attorneys general from 24 states, along with the governors of Kentucky and Pennsylvania, sued the administration in August over the records. The court had previously issued a temporary restraining order blocking access to the information.
